Pool Filter Cleaning in Turlock, CA

A clean filter is the backbone of clear water, and we service every type with Nevergreen Pools.

Vintage Pool Service opens, cleans, and inspects cartridge, DE, and sand pool filters in Turlock so your water gets properly filtered again and your pump stops fighting a clogged system. If your chemistry looks right but the water still will not sparkle, the filter is usually the first place to look.

Call us if the pressure reading sits well above where it was after the last cleaning, if a fine haze hangs in the water for days, if the vacuum seems to blow dust right back out the returns, if the jets have gone weak, if algae spots keep returning in the same places, if the backwash no longer brings the pressure down, or if nobody can remember when the filter was last taken apart.

Filter service is carried out in partnership with Nevergreen Pools, under Nevergreen's contractor license, CSLB #1066482, by technicians based in Manteca. Give us a call and our office will find a time that works for your schedule.

What Goes Into a Proper Filter Cleaning

Before the filter comes apart, our technician looks at the rest of the system. Pump performance, valve positions, pressure history, and water balance all affect how quickly a filter loads up and how well it works. Spotting a pump problem or a chemistry issue at the same time means the clean filter can actually do its job once it goes back together.

The cleaning itself depends on the filter. Cartridge elements are pulled and washed pleat by pleat. DE filters are broken down so the grids can be rinsed, inspected for tears, and recharged with fresh DE once reassembled. Sand filters are backwashed thoroughly and checked for clumped or exhausted media. When we find worn or damaged parts, we give you a written quote and honest advice on whether they need replacing now or still have some life left.

The local climate keeps filters busy. Seasonal and afternoon winds blow fine dust, grass, and debris from fields and orchards into pools, and much of that material ends up trapped in the filter. Spring adds pollen and cottonwood fluff, and fall adds heavy leaf drop from shade trees. With many summer days above 100 degrees from June through September, pumps run longer and push more water through the filter every day. Older pools may still use original filters, while newer pools commonly pair modern filters with variable-speed pumps and salt systems, and we clean each type the right way.

Our filter services cover:

  • Cartridge cleaning and replacement cartridges
  • DE grid cleaning, inspection, and recharge
  • Sand filter backwash and new filter media
  • Filter valve and tank repair or complete filter replacement
  • Scheduled filter cleanings for weekly service customers

The Difference You Will Notice

After a proper cleaning, water flows through the filter freely and the pump can turn the pool over at the rate it was designed for. Clarity improves, the chlorine you add goes further, and the returns push with noticeably more force. Many homeowners see the water brighten within a day of the service.

A neglected filter costs more than most people expect. Poor filtration leaves particles and organic matter in the water, so you spend more on chemicals trying to keep it clear. Rising pressure puts stress on the tank, lid, and o-rings, which can lead to leaks or cracks. The pump works against that resistance every hour it runs, which uses more electricity and wears out the motor sooner. In warm months, weak filtration is a common starting point for algae.

Most pools here need a cleaning several times a year, with extra service after windy weeks and during leaf season. The right interval depends on your filter type, how big the pool is, and how much debris your yard sends its way. We can set a schedule that fits your pool once we see the condition of the filter.

For weekly service customers, filter cleanings can be built into the plan so they happen at the right intervals. One-time cleanings are available as well, and during that visit we will let you know how much life your cartridges, grids, or sand have left.

Salt pools deserve a quick note. Water that runs through a salt system still needs good filtration, and a dirty filter can reduce flow to the point where the cell stops producing chlorine. Keeping the filter clean helps the salt system do its work and protects the cell from running under poor conditions, which is a common cause of early cell wear.
