Green Pool Cleanup in Stockton, CA

Clear water again, and a plan that keeps the algae from coming back.

Vintage Pool Service clears algae-filled, murky, and long-neglected pools in Stockton, restoring the water and the equipment so the pool is safe and swimmable again. We also figure out why it turned and set up care that keeps it clear going forward.

Call us if the pool has gone from clear to green in just a few days, if you can no longer see the main drain, if the steps and walls are coated in slime, if dark spots or black dots are forming on the plaster, if the water smells stale, if a thick layer of leaves and silt sits on the bottom, if insects are breeding on the surface, or if a rental or newly purchased home left you with a pool nobody has touched in months.

We handle cleanups as a partner of Nevergreen Pools, working under their contractor license, CSLB #1066482. Give our office a call, describe the pool, and we will plan the recovery with you.

Our Recovery Plan

Algae is what you see, but it is rarely the whole story. The technician checks the water chemistry, the circulation, the filter, and the equipment to understand how the pool got there. If a failing pump or a clogged filter set things off, killing the algae without fixing that would only lead to another bloom.

Recovery happens in stages. Heavy debris comes out first, then the water is treated to kill the algae, the walls and floor are brushed so the treatment reaches every surface, and the system runs to filter out what remains. Because the filter catches so much dead algae, it typically needs cleaning more than once along the way. If equipment needs work, you see a written quote before any repair, along with a straight answer on whether to fix or replace. When the water is clear, the same crew can move the pool onto a weekly plan so it stays that way.

Local weather sets pools up to turn. Summer brings many days over 100 degrees from June into September, and the heat and sun burn through chlorine while evaporation drops the water level. Wind brings dust, grass, and orchard and field debris, giving algae plenty of organic material to feed on. Spring pollen, cottonwood fluff, and the heavy leaf drop of fall add to it. Through rainy, foggy winters, owners tend to leave the pool alone, and many of them find it green when spring arrives. Older plaster pools on aging equipment can lose circulation suddenly, and even newer salt-system pools can turn if flow or the cell falls behind.

Cleanup services include:

  • Algae removal and water treatment
  • Clearing leaves, silt, and debris
  • Repeat filter cleanings during recovery
  • Equipment inspection and repair
  • Ongoing weekly care afterward

From Problem Pool to Backyard Asset

At the end of a cleanup you have clear water, clean walls and floor, balanced chemistry, and equipment that is running properly. You also know what caused the bloom and what will stop it from happening again. The pool goes back to being part of your home instead of an eyesore you avoid.

Delays make the job harder. Warm water lets algae multiply fast, and every week it stays, it digs further into the plaster and loads up the filter. Leaves on the floor decay and feed the problem. Stagnant green water attracts insects and can create friction with neighbors. A recovery that might have taken a few visits can stretch into a much bigger, more costly project.

Staying clear is the simple part. Our Essential and Complete weekly plans, billed with the cost of chemicals, keep the water tested and balanced every week so problems are caught early. A large share of our weekly customers first came to us with a green pool.

Because no two cleanups are the same, we like to see the pool before quoting. The amount of algae, the depth of debris on the floor, and the condition of the equipment all affect the plan, and we explain each step before we start so you know what is coming.

During the recovery we keep you updated on progress, so you know how the water is responding and roughly when it will be ready to swim. If we find stains or surface damage that will not lift with normal treatment, we point it out and explain your options instead of leaving it as a surprise. Once the pool is clear, we walk you through what we found and what we recommend for the weeks ahead.
