Green Pool Cleanup in Lodi, CA

We bring neglected and algae-filled pools back to clear water, in partnership with Nevergreen Pools.

Vintage Pool Service turns green, swampy, and neglected pools in Lodi back into clean, swimmable water. Our green to clean recovery clears the algae, rebalances the chemistry, restores the filtration, and figures out what went wrong so it does not happen again.

Call us if you cannot see the bottom of the deep end, if the water has gone from light green to dark green or murky brown, if there is a slimy film on the steps and walls, if bugs, frogs, or mosquitoes have moved in, if you just bought a home and the pool came with it in rough shape, if a renter or a long trip left the pool untouched for weeks, or if the cover came off in spring to a mess you do not want to tackle yourself.

This work is done in partnership with Nevergreen Pools, under California contractor license CSLB #1066482, by our crew based in Manteca. Send us a message through the form on this page, and we will reach out to plan the cleanup.

From Swamp to Swimmable

A green pool is a symptom, so before treating anything we check the system that let it happen. The technician looks at whether the pump is running, whether the filter is clogged or damaged, and what the water chemistry shows. A pool that turned green because the pump died needs a different plan than one that turned green because nobody added chlorine.

Recovery usually takes more than one visit. Heavy debris comes out first, then the water is treated to kill the algae, the walls and floor are brushed hard, and the filter is cleaned repeatedly as it catches the dead growth. As the water clears, we vacuum out what settles and bring the chemistry back into range. If equipment is part of the problem, we give you a written quote before any repair and tell you honestly whether fixing the old part or replacing it is the better use of your money. The same crew sees the job through until the pool is clear.

Local weather makes algae a constant risk. Summers are long, dry, and hot, with many days above 100 degrees from June through September, and strong sun burns off chlorine fast. Wind brings in dust, grass, and orchard and field debris that feed algae growth. Pollen and cottonwood fluff in spring and heavy leaf drop in fall add more organic material. In winter, rain and foggy weather leave pools ignored for weeks while the chemistry slides, which is why so many pools come out of the off season green.

A green pool recovery can include:

  • Debris removal and initial cleanout
  • Algae treatment and water rebalancing
  • Brushing and vacuuming over multiple visits
  • Filter cleaning during and after the cleanup
  • Equipment repair if a failure caused the problem
  • A transition to weekly care to keep it clear

The timeline depends on how far the pool has gone. A pool that is lightly green may clear in a few days, while one that has sat for months with leaves rotting on the floor can take longer. We give you a realistic estimate after seeing it instead of a promise we cannot keep.

Getting Your Backyard Back

Once the cleanup is finished, you have clear water you can swim in, equipment that is working, and a pool that no longer embarrasses you when guests come over. If you just moved in, it means the pool you paid for is finally usable. If you were selling, a clean pool is far more appealing to buyers than a green one.

The longer a green pool sits, the harder and more expensive it is to bring back. Algae spreads into the plaster and grout lines, leaves and debris break down and stain the surface, and standing water becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes. A filter that stays clogged with dead algae can be damaged, and some neglected pools end up needing a drain and refill instead of a simpler treatment.

The best way to protect the money you just spent on a cleanup is to keep the pool on regular service afterward. Many of our recovery customers move onto the Essential or Complete package, plus the cost of chemicals, so the pool stays clear without them having to think about it.

We will keep you updated as the water clears, so you know where things stand at each stage and when the pool is ready to use again. If we find anything else along the way, such as a worn seal or a cracked basket, we will point it out before it causes the next problem.
